Kelewele

Ingredients

  • 4 ripe plantains, skins well spotted
  • 2 tbsp Efamy Kelewele Seasoning Mix
  • 1 tbsp water
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Salt to taste

Method

  1. Peel the plantains and cut into thick diagonal slices or cubes.

  2. Mix the seasoning with the water to a loose paste.

  3. Toss the plantain through the paste until evenly coated. Leave for 10 minutes.

  4. Heat oil in a deep pan to a medium-high heat.

  5. Fry in batches for 3 to 4 minutes a side until deep gold and caught at the edges.

  6. Drain on kitchen paper, season, and eat hot.
